Photography, especially landscape photography, has been my favorite hobby since the black and white film days of the last century and it remains my favorite hobby. I make a couple of long photo journeys overseas or across the country every year as well a photo trip in my local areas almost every weekend. Some of my photos are on display in different organizations and some have won rewards.
Landscape photography offers me a different perspecdtive of the world; it forces me to get outside and discover the beauty in nature which I normally wouldn't see. Because of landscape photogphy, I have seen the sunrise, sunset, or thurnder storms for numerous times, which a non-photographer would rarely see. Furthermore, landscape photography is a therapeutical experience, clearing my mind and soothing my worries and anxiety. When I am out and about in the field, I am completely focused on my images, which is the time when I am most relaxed. Finally, landscape photography develops my skills in creating and appreciating art. The use of light, colors, shapes and patterns in photography makes me always conscious of and critical about the aesthetic elements of everything. After years of dong landscape photography, I now proudly see myself not only as a photographer but also as an artist.
